[Special Jimini's] Mashed potatoes with molitor worms | Basil Carving Seasoning

At OCNI, we like to combine innovation, surprise and good products to create recipes that are out of the ordinary and revolutionize the way you eat.
We know about space and UFOs, but we also love the earth and its natural resources: that's why we decided to partner with Jimini's, which concocts wonderful insects to cook for your greatest pleasure.

Here is a recipe straight from their workshop and imagined by one of their ants:

Mashed potatoes with molitor worms

Recette Jiminis OCNI Factory écrasé de pommes de terre aux vers molitors assaisonnement à tailler au basilic

For 4 people :
- 1 box of Molitors worms to find here
- 750g of potatoes
- 150ml of milk
- 50ml liquid cream
- 25g of butter
- Fresh Parsley
- A clove of garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt pepper
- Basil Carving Seasoning

  1. Cut the potatoes into cubes and plunge them into boiling water (ouch!), until cooked.
  2. Meanwhile, sauté the molitors in a little olive oil. Add the crushed garlic, chopped parsley, and a few shavings of Basil Trimming Seasoning. Mix well, and set aside after a few minutes of cooking.
  3. Heat the cream over low heat.
  4. Once cooked, mash the potatoes to make a puree.
  5. Add milk, cream and butter.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Arrange on plates, and sprinkle the mashed potatoes with a few molitor worms. The crunchiness of the insects goes perfectly with the fondant of the crushed!
  8. To finish, add a few shavings of Basil Trimming Seasoning.
  9. Taste!

You can accompany the mashed potatoes with pan-fried seasonal vegetables or mushrooms, or breaded eggplant slices.
