
Strawberry & Basil Tart Recipe
For 1 tart:
- 500 g of strawberries
- 1 seasoning pencil to carve Basil
- 150 g of flour
- 80 g of butter
- 100 g of powdered sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 pinch of salt
Cream:
- 40 cl of milk
- 1/2 vanilla pod
- 3 egg yolks
- 80 gr of sugar
- 40 gr of cornstarch
- 40 gr of butter
For the dough:
- Soften the butter using a fork.
- Add the powdered sugar and mix well to obtain a smooth cream.
- Incorporate the egg yolks, then sprinkle in the flour and salt.
- Mix until you get a dough ball, then refrigerate it.
For the cream:
- Heat the milk with the half vanilla pod.
- Mix the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture whitens, then sprinkle in the cornstarch.
- Incorporate the hot milk and return to the heat to thicken the cream.
- Stir continuously for 2 minutes and remove the cream from the heat.
- Keep refrigerated.
- Roll out the dough and bake it in the oven for 15 minutes at 180°C.
- Blend the cream while adding the butter in pieces.
- Remove the tart shell from the oven and let it cool.
- Pour your cream into the tart shell, arrange the sliced strawberries, and enjoy with Basil shavings.
